KitchenAid Compatibility Guide: Which Willow Haven Products Fit Your Mixer

KitchenAid makes over 20 stand mixer models across two main architectures. Before you buy any accessories, it's worth knowing which type you have — because the wrong size won't fit, and most of the confusion around mixer accessories comes down to this one distinction.

Tilt-head vs bowl-lift: which do you have?

Tilt-head models have a head that pivots backward on a hinge to attach or remove the bowl. Common tilt-head models include the Artisan (KSM150, KSM160), the Classic (KSM45), and the Mini (KSM3311). These typically have 4.5-quart or 5-quart bowls.

Bowl-lift models have a lever on the side that raises the bowl up into the attachment. The bowl doesn't come out from the front — it lifts vertically. Common bowl-lift models include the Professional 600 (KSM600), the Pro 6500 (KSM6521), and the Commercial Series (KSM8990). These typically have 6-quart or 7-quart bowls.

If you're still not sure: tilt-head mixers are generally more common in home kitchens and tend to be lighter and lower-profile. Bowl-lift mixers are taller and heavier, with a more industrial look.

Slider compatibility

Both the bamboo slider and acacia wood slider come in two sizes: tilt-head and bowl-lift. The tilt-head version is sized for 4.5–5 quart models. The bowl-lift version is sized for 6–7 quart models.

When ordering, select the version that matches your mixer type. The bowl footprint is slightly different between the two architectures, so the tilt-head slider won't sit correctly under a bowl-lift machine.

Slider mat compatibility

The silicone slider mat is available in a bowl-lift size. It fits all 6-quart bowl-lift models. It grips the bench surface firmly so the mixer doesn't walk during heavy mixing, and the machine slides on top of it rather than against the benchtop.

Flex edge beater compatibility

The flex edge beater is designed for 6-quart bowl-lift models. It won't fit tilt-head models. If you have a tilt-head mixer, KitchenAid sells their own branded flex edge beater in 4.5-quart and 5-quart versions, available directly from KitchenAid.

Attachment holder compatibility

The wall-mounted attachment holder is universal — it works with attachments from any KitchenAid stand mixer. The hooks are sized to fit the standard hub-end diameter that all KitchenAid attachments share. It comes in a 2-pack and a 4-pack.

Acacia bowl

The acacia wood serving bowl is a standalone piece — not a KitchenAid bowl replacement. It doesn't attach to the machine. It's a serving and prep bowl that pairs with the mixer setup on your bench or table.

Pouring chute compatibility

The pouring chute fits tilt-head KitchenAid models. It locks onto the bowl rim and lets you add ingredients while the machine is running without stopping to remove the splash guard. Check the product page for the specific bowl diameter it fits before ordering.
